Thoughts, Meditations and Card Readings

Follow up: There's a lot going on in my life that's positive. New show. Money at work. Doing well in school. Close friendships (many of which have grown in the past year.) It's no wonder that I'd pull such a happy card.

Deck: The Hawaiian Oracle

Focus: Why I've been so down this week.

Card: Alae. Mud Hen.

You've put the elements in the correct places. Now get the timing right, and anything will be possible. My first instinct is that this is a reference to my education, but I don't know why that would make me so down. The card itself is very beautiful with many images, but I find myself drawn to the mud hen herself. I'm unable to look away from her, and in her, I keep seeing my cat Cali. Which, to be fair, could have a lot to do with why I'm so down. Perhaps then, the card didn't answer the question of why, but more gave me something to look at, to keep myself going.

Follow up: Though I was admittedly passive in chasing my dreams yesterday, they were still there, at the forefront of my thoughts. I did do a few things, and have a few internal decisions that, I believe, work well toward my future. I approached life with an attitude of determination. Giving up is not an option. I enjoyed yesterday's focus.

Deck: Hawaiian Oracle.

Focus: General

Card: Kane Huna Moku. Legendary Island of Paradise.

You've found your paradise. Before I continue, I must share how gorgeous this card is. There's a rainbow at the top, a colorful clear ocean on the bottom and through a swirl of clouds, a beautiful green inviting mountain. The card speaks simply. Be good. Be happy. Life has given me amazing gifts. Appreciate them. Share my happiness with others. This card represents the shore alluded to in the past two cards. This is what I'm swimming for, what I'm striving for. This is the good life that I deserve.

Follow up: This past week has really been about fighting against what's bad to rise to the top. In ways far more profound than I can express right now. We will make it to the shore though. The previous card was so much more insightful than I could have predicted at the time.

Deck: The Hawaiian Oracle

Focus: General

Card: Honu 'Ea. Hawksbill turtle.

Like Hona 'ea you are realizing your potential. You have the ability to see beneath the surface of the sea and understand that nothing is solid unless your thinking makes it so. One of the key lessons that I've been realizing over recent months is my potential. Knowing that I'm capable of more and taking the steps to achieve it. It's important for me to keep my determination. This card is visually similar to the last one, as both involved creatures near the bottom of the ocean. Only this time, the card shows someone actively swimming to shore. I will be an active participant in my life. I will keep reaching for the stars.

Follow Up: There was definitely change in the air yesterday. From one of the managers saying that his last day was Tuesday (today!), to my previously diligent study habits falling through (hey, I can use a day off), to reassessing my plans to include possible back up plans if life throws me something new. Yes, change was at the forefront of my thoughts. With each thought, I took a deep breath, reminding myself that change is a good thing and that the only way to chase a dream is to go after it.

Deck: The Hawaiian Oracle

Focus: The coming weeks, what my life holds for me in the immediate future.

Card: Loli. Sea Slug.

Now is the time to surface and seek the security of the shore. When this card came up, I nodded and smiled. Loli represents, among other things, overcoming depression and fighting everything against you to come out on top. I've had a rough few weeks. Just last night I was wondering how this depression would continue to play into my life. I know it's time to move past it, to let myself blossom once more. Still, it's reassuring to see it in the cards. Also to note, though I rarely use reversals myself, this card did show up reversed. I do wonder if I'm going to be taking a less than traditional path to happiness. Traveling upwards toward the daylight you will reach the shoal of rest. There you will find peace and forgiveness, the qualities you need to take you towards the true land of love.

Deck: The Hawaiian Oracle

Focus: General

Card: Moli. Albatross.

The appearance of the great bird in the seas is a blessing. The time you've been waiting for has come. Something new is coming? What I notice about this card is how you can see everything that Moli is leaving, but where he's going is a mystery to the reader. Where am I going? What is awaiting me? My focus for the day, will be to be open to new experiences. To take them in with an open heart and mind. I'm the one in control of my destiny.
